Stainless Steel 317 Slip On Flanges is molybdenum containing austenitic stainless steel with increased additions of chromium, nickel, and molybdenum. Stainless Steel 317L Blind Flanges is often used for textile, pulp paper and chemical equipment, for corrosion resistance. Stainless Steel 317 Spectacle Blind Flanges are more resistant to general corrosion and pitting/crevice corrosion than the conventional chromium - nickel austenitic stainless steels such as Stainless Steel 304. Meanwhile, these Stainless Steel 317L Weld Neck Flanges is intended to provide improved corrosion resistance relative to Stainless Steel 316L in highly corrosive process environments, particularly those containing chlorides or other halides.
Our Stainless Steel 317 Socket Weld Flanges is also used in chemical processing, food processing, oil refineries, paper mills, gas scrubbers, photographic handling, and marine applications. The carbon content of Stainless Steel 317L Threaded Flanges enables it to be welded without inter-granular corrosion resulting from chromium carbide precipitation enabling it to be used in the as-welded condition. Due to the molybdenum content of 3 % – 4 %, Stainless Steel 317 Lap Joint Flanges are more resistant to general corrosion and pitting/crevice corrosion than type 304. In addition, annealing of these Stainless Steel 317L Ring Type Joint Flanges can be performed on both grades between 1850 Degree F and 2050 Degree F, followed by rapid cooling.
